#77 - Gn’icht’Tyaacht & Adumbrali

Gn’icht’Tyaacht

The Gn’icht’Tyaacht are tree spirits native to the jungles of West Africa, and are only able to leave their Nuwanda Trees at night. They are seven-foot tall, lanky humanoids with long pointed heads. They also have huge claws and prominent, sharply pointed teeth.

#76 - Formless Spawn of Tsathoggua & Gyaa-Yothn

Formless Spawn of Tsathoggua

The Formless Spawn of Tsathoggua seem to be like mini Shoggoths, though they can only alter their shape, not create organs etc.

#75 - Ghasts & Fishers from Outside

Ghasts

Ghasts are repulsive beings which die in the light. They leap on long hind legs and have yellowish red eyes. Ghasts have an excellent sense of smell and their face is curiously human despite the absence of a nose, a forehead, and other particulars. They speak in coughing gutturals.

#74 - Alskali & Yuggs

Alskali

Alskali are about ten feet tall with squat, heavily-muscled bodies. They are hairless, with dead-grey skin and huge hands and feet. Each has a single black glossy eye in the centre of their otherwise humanoid faces. These giants have entered into human folklore as the Cyclops.

#73 - Star Vampires & Hounds of Tindalos

Star Vampires

Star Vampires are normally invisible, their presence signalled only by a kind of tittering sound. After feeding, they become visible through the blood they drink.

#72 - Brood of Ubbo-Sathla & Nagaae

Brood of Ubbo-Sathla

The Brood of Ubbo-Sathla are similar in appearance to giant versions of protozoans and other single-celled creatures. Like the Spawn of Abhoth, they are constantly being birthed, and though some are re-absorbed, many do escape. Generally encountered only in Ubbo-Sathla’s primal grotto, no two spawn are exactly alike.

#71 - Zarr & Spawn of Yig

Zarr

The Zarr are 9-feet tall with dark blue skin. Their eyes bulge round and expressionless from their domed head. Between their eyes, a ridge runs vertically, transected by many horizontal slits that might be mouths. A Zarr's legs, shorter in proportion than those of a human, are unjointed, and each terminates in a toeless pad, whereas the arms, also unjointed, branch at the end into three powerful fingers and an opposable thumb. They are a technologically advanced race that conquer every world they come across. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find a single image of them.

#70 - Servitors of the Outer Gods & Space Eaters

Servitors of the Outer Gods

Vaguely resembling frogs, as well as squids or octopi, these amorphous beings progress by rolling, slithering, or lurching.

#69 - Spawn of Nyogtha & Unspeakable Possessors

Spawn of Nyogtha

The Spawn of Nyogtha are the offspring of blasphemous unions between humans, ghouls, and Nyogtha. The children produced by these matings degenerate into shapeless abominations after about three decades. Until this stage they easily pass as human, though they have viscous, black ichor running through their veins, so a medical examination could give them away. Once transformed, however, their torso and limbs have a bloated corpulence, yet the monstrous form maintains skeletal hands and face, though with hideously distorted features, razor-sharp talons, lupine fangs, and bulging eyes with hellish crimson orbs.

#68 - Daughters of Atlach-Nacha & Fosterlings of the Old Ones

Daughters of Atlach-Nacha

The Daughters of Atlach-Nacha begin as normal women who have been chosen by the Great Old One to become one of its giant spider companions. Eventually, the chosen undergoes a horrific transformation, shedding her human skin, and changing into an enormous spider. This spider is almost completely black except for the swollen, pulsing abdomen that is streaked with green and gold.

#67 - Shugoran & Elder Things

Shugoran

The Shugoran race look like smaller versions of Nyarlathotep's Shugoran form. They are amphibious and have black, catfish-like hides, with small wings—or fins—and long proboscises.

#66 - Bast & Petesouchi

Bast

Bast—or Bastet—is the goddess of cats, typically depicted as a woman with a cat's head.

#65 - Dimensional Shamblers & Spawn of Hastur

Dimensional Shamblers

Little is known about Dimensional Shamblers, save for their hide being described as "not wholly ape and not wholly insect", and their ability to walk between dimensions.

#64 - Tindalosian Hybrids & Hunting Horrors

Tindalosian Hybrids

Tindalosian Hybrids look like living Cubist paintings. They generally try to maintain their human form, but their image often wavers and ripples. By ingesting a bit of the blue ichor left behind by a Hound of Tindalos, a human may become infected—if he does not die first—and mutate into a Tindalosian hybrid. Certain spells or elixirs may produce the same effect.

#63 - Servants of Gla’aki & Denizens of S’glhuo

Servants of Gla’aki

When someone is poisoned by Gla'aki, they become his undead slave, though still able to perform individual actions. At first they can still pass as their former self, but as time goes on, they become more corpse-like.

#62 - Martians & Proto-Shoggoths

Martians

Like the Triffids, I was actually surprised to find H.G. Wells' Martians in the Malleus Monstrorum. I love that story, but I find it hard to picture them as being in the same universe as the Mythos, mostly because it means the titular war never happened. Anyway, in The War of the Worlds the Martians are described as being a "big, grey, rounded bulk, the size, perhaps, of a bear," as well as having lank tentacular appendages, a V-shaped mouth, and fungoid, oily brown skin." They are, however, most well-known for their 100ft-tall tripodal war machines.

#61 - Moon-Beasts & Gnoph-Keh

Moon-Beasts

Moon-Beasts get their name from the fact that they live on the Moon of the Dreamlands. They do, however, travel far via great flying galleons. They are sadists by nature and enslave various other races to work for them, particularly the Men of Leng. Moon-Beasts are described as "a sort of toad without any eyes, but with a curious vibrating mass of short pink tentacles on the end of its blunt, vague snout."

#60 - Wendigo & Leng Spiders

Wendigo

Wendigo are hoofed humanoids who worship Ithaqua, and are typically depicted with deer skull for a head, and always with antlers. Despite living off moss, fungus, and frogs, they consider human flesh a delicacy and will seek it out any chance they get. Wendigo are also savage, solitary, and territorial, fighting to the death when they come across another another of their kind.

#59 - Ny’ghan Grii & Minions of Othuum

Ny’ghan Grii

Ny’ghan Grii are spherical, luminous beings with a single, faceted eye, and puckered mouth. They are also—you guessed it!—covered in tentacles. How novel.

#58 - Inhabitants of L’gy’hx & Nioth-Korghai

Inhabitants of L’gy’hx

Described only as "cuboid, many-legged metal beings". The Inhabitants of L’gy’hx stand only about three-feet tall, but are very heavy and strong. Some may have come to Earth as slaves of the Shan.

#57 - Cold Ones & Horses of the Invisible

Cold Ones

Cold Ones—also known as Ylidheem—are semi-corporeal entities that appear as ghostly, wailing, humanoid silhouettes of whirling snow and vapours. They are only encountered in areas of bitter cold, and can appear or disappear into snowy skies, or drifts of snow and ice, like ghosts. Despite this, Cold Ones are only partially immaterial, so cannot pass through solid matter, though they can seep through the smallest of openings.

#56 - Tunnelers Below & Hell-Plants

Tunnelers Below

The Tunnelers Below are odd creatures. They are six-foot long cylinders with a mouth full of shark-like teeth at one end, and many tiny, translucent wings down the sides. They live in tunnels that span the globe, and use telepathy to feed their insatiable thirst for Mythos knowledge.

#55 - Thralls of Cthulhu & Nodens

Thralls of Cthulhu

Once human worshipers of Cthulhu, they chose to partake in rituals that transform them into bloated, grey shadows of their former selves, with vestigial tentacles around their mouth (or head). In return, they are given immortality.

#54 - Tree-Men of M'bwa & Dark Young of Shub-Niggurath

Tree-Men of M'bwa

Once human, the Tree-Men of M'bwa become fixed in place and slowly turn into a human-shaped tree.

#53 - Trolls & Spawn of Othuyeg

Trolls

Trolls are degenerate descendants of the Voormis, meaning they are dog-like humanoids. They have white coats that keep them warm and camouflaged in their snowy habitats. They also have the ability to call forth blizzards.

#52 - Terrors from Beyond & Shantaks

Terrors from Beyond

Terrors from Beyond—also known as Astral Parasites—appear like jellyfish floating through the air... when they can be seen. Normally they occupy their own dimension, completely invisible to ours, but with special devices, they can be seen. The only problem is, as soon as we can see them, they can also see us... and they are always hungry.

#51 - Children of the Sphinx & Inhabitants of Yekub

Children of the Sphinx

The Children of the Sphinx are humans with the heads of various Egyptian animals, such as ibis, falcons, cats, crocodiles, hippos, and jackals.

#50 - Xo Tl’mi-go & Death-Vines of Xiclotl

Xo Tl’mi-go

The Xo Tl'mi-go are thin humanoids with pale skin, sunken eyes, and tapeworm-like mouths. They dwell underground and only come out at night.

#49 - Children of the Green God & Chakota

Children of the Green God

Plain and simple, the Children of the Green God are rabbit-people. They are covered in coarse hair, have elongated ears, large eyes, sharp rodent-like teeth, move in a hopping gait, and dwell in underground warrens. There's not much else to say really. So there's Serpent People, Reptile People, Rat People, Fish People, Pig People, Insect People, and now Rabbit People. Who knew the Mythos had so many anthropomorphic animals!

#48 - Gof ’nn Hupadgh Shub-Niggurath & Watchers

Gof ’nn Hupadgh Shub-Niggurath

Also known as the blessed of Shub-Niggurath, they are a mutant race, some having the semblance of satyrs with goatish features, hooved feet and small horns, others being mostly humanoid, and still others having been horribly mutated into monstrous things. They were originally humans who were sacrificed to Shub-Niggurath, and are "reborn" with great mutations. No two are alike, and it's said that they served the basis for ancient goblin myths.

#47 - Broodlings of Eihort & Spawn of the Green Abyss

Broodlings of Eihort

Broodlings of Eihort are gestalt beings made up of millions of the tiny white spidery brood of Eihort. They form the shape of a human and can speak if needed. If "killed", the body collapses and the individual brood crawl away.

#46 - Spectral Hunters & Flying Polyps

Spectral Hunters

Spectral Hunters are rubbery-skinned humanoids with shark-like mouths and crab-like claws. They are typically guardians of a location or object, and can become invisible at will.

#45 - Byakhee & Beings from Xiclotl

Byakhee

Described as "not altogether crows, nor moles, nor buzzards, nor ants, nor vampire bats, nor decomposed human beings," I've yet to actually see a Byakhee portrayed with all of those features. Because they were also said to be "tame, trained," they are generally treated as the mounts of the Mythos.

#44 - Deep Ones & Sons of Yog-Sothoth

Deep Ones

Deep Ones are humanoid fish-frogs that live in cities under the sea—though they can also survive just fine on land. They also live forever unless killed.
